Woman charged in Ireland after police intercept ‘highly sophisticated’ bomb

Detectives targeting dissident republicans stopped vehicle transporting device near Northern Ireland border

A woman in her 20s has been charged in relation to an “extremely significant” bomb intercepted near the Irish border.

Garda Síochána said in a statement that a second person, a man in his 40s arrested in connection with the investigation, remained detained in relation to offences against the state.
