Home Office announces move that officials say comes close to proscribing group as a terrorist organisation

The UK will ban support for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Keir Starmer said on Monday, in a move which officials said came close to proscribing the military group as a terrorist organisation.

The prime minister announced his government would designate the organisation under a new National Security Act, enabling law enforcement to take action against anyone deemed to be providing it support.
