Nigerian Army missile strike kills Palestinian ISWAP trainer Abu Ishaq in Borno

In a decisive operation following a failed infiltration attempt at Cross Kauwa in Kukawa Local Government Area, security forces targeted a terrorist camp, eliminating several foreign operatives. Among those killed was Abu Ishaq, a Palestinian Arab recognized as the main trainer for ISWAP, responsible for equipping fighters with tactics and operational skills.

This strike followed an earlier successful defense by troops of the 19 Brigade, Sector 3, Operation HADIN KAI, who repelled a night attack by ISWAP on July 11, 2026. During that clash, soldiers recovered a camcorder from a slain ISWAP cameraman. Forensic analysis of the footage uncovered the involvement of foreign facilitators coordinating the terrorist group’s activities.

The operation marks a significant blow to ISWAP’s capabilities, disrupting their training and coordination networks, and reinforcing the ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
