France records 2,025 excess deaths in June heatwave

France recorded 2,025 excess deaths during the June 22-28 heatwave, the country's health minister said Friday, marking a nearly 30 percent nationwide rise in recorded deaths. In the Paris region, the number of deaths during the same period increased by 62 percent, according to the public health authority.
