Six additional states caught up in investigation after Michigan reported first two US deaths linked to disease

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reportedly expanded the scope of the largest known cyclosporiasis outbreak to more states, including Arkansas and Missouri.

A spokesperson from Arkansas’s health department confirmed the outbreak expansion to their state in a statement to the Guardian: “Arkansas is one of the states the CDC is adding to the multi-state outbreak for cyclosporiasis.”
