60 years uniting the banks of the Tagus: 25 de Abril Bridge remains Portugal's busiest crossing

Opened in 1966, the 25 de Abril Bridge is marking its 60th anniversary. The crossing between Lisbon and Almada remains the busiest over the Tagus, with around 150,000 vehicles a day, while a new road-rail link between Chelas and Barreiro is planned.
