Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a stern warning against any attempt to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
Igboho gave the warning in a video shared on Friday, stating that any attempt to dethrone the monarch would cause unrest in Oyo State.
Igboho said that any governor who tries to remove Ladoja would face resistance, questioning how anyone would want to remove Olubadan.
According to him, the royal father is an indigene of Oyo State and should be respected.
"They will declare a state of emergency. If any governor tries it, it is from Soka here that this state would be shaking. Why will you remove Olubadan? All of us are from Oyo State," he said.
Igboho also reacted to rumours that some people were planning to waylay or ambush the monarch, noting that no one should dare attack the Olubadan at home or anywhere.
He further asserted that he had assured the Olubadan that he could sleep without fear, adding that no one can enter his house to intimidate him.
The tension started in April when former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, claimed that Governor Seyi Makinde was plotting to dethrone Ladoja because he missed the planned coronation of high chiefs in Ibadan.
But the Oyo State Government denied it. The Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, said at the time that the government never thought of removing Olubadan and never discussed it.
